CALIFORNIA NATIVE APPOINTED DIRECTOR OF ADMISSIONS AT CALIFORNIA COLLEGE SAN DIEGO

San Diego, CA, April 12, 2010 – The rapidly growing Mission Valley campus of California College San Diego has just named Tana Sanderson of Encinitas Director of Admissions.  Sanderson has worked in higher education for 18 years as an educator and administrator at various San Diego universities.  She has a bachelor’s degree in Journalism, a master’s degree in Communications / Marketing, and doctoral studies in business. She most recently ran the Temecula campus of University of Redlands as the Director, and had regional campus duties to oversee their satellite campuses throughout Southern California. Read more

Full-Tuition Scholarships and Paid Internships Available for Students Interested in Careers in Nuclear Energy

Looking for a stable, well-paying job in an unstable economy? A new MiraCosta College program offers a free college education, a stable job and great pay! MiraCosta has partnered with the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS) to offer a program to train students for jobs in nuclear energy. Plus, SONGS is offering 48 full-tuition and book scholarships for qualifying students who enroll in the new Maintenance & Operations Job Preparation Program. SONGS is also offering $20.97/hour paid summer internships. Interested students can learn more about the program at a special information session scheduled for Thursday, April 22, 6-7 p.m. in Room 3601 (Little Theatre) at MiraCosta College, 1 Barnard Drive, Oceanside. San Diego Self Storage Supports Bicycle Drive

emmanuelSan Diego Self Storage (SDSS) is contributing to a bicycle drive to help accomplish a goal set by the legendary athlete and activist, Emmanuel Yeboah, to fill a shipping container with used bicycles and sporting equipment destined for his origin of birth, the West African nation of Ghana. The public is invited to participate in this project to benefit children in Ghana by dropping off used bikes and sporting goods to the Magdalena Ecke Family YMCA located at 200 Saxony Road in Encinitas during each Saturday and Sunday in March. Equipment will be accepted from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm on March 13-14, March 20-21 and March 27-28. SDSS will provide a storage space at Encinitas Self Storage to store the bikes prior to loading the shipping container and supply a truck for transporting the bikes to the storage facility.
